Finding a vacation to please everyone in the family can be challenging. Is it possible to keep everybody happy in the same place at the same time and actually relax?
Say Hola to Xcaret.
One of the newest properties in the Riviera Maya, Hotel Xcaret offers something for everyone. This all-inclusive resort is a feast for the senses as nature is on display with the fusion of Caribbean and Mayan culture.
A typical all-inclusive resort includes all your meals and beverages, and possibly some non- motorized water sports, but Hotel Xcaret is the ultimate all-inclusive. Included in the standard rate is access to 7 different eco parks and 2 local tours, fabulous food, top shelf beverages, and a personal concierge to help you make the most of your time in Mexico.
The Sigler family recently returned from a week at Xcaret and kindly shared some photos, lots of memories, and some great tips from their awesome adventure. The Siglers have 2 boys, age 10 and 13 and this family loves to be active!
After a direct flight from Charlotte, and a quick ride in the signature hot pink airport shuttle, the Siglers were greeted with cool lavender towels and fruit popsicles upon check-in. They were taken to a planning area where a concierge helped them lay out their week at Xcaret. “By the time we got to our room, I felt like I didn’t need to think anymore,” Kristen told me.
The Siglers took full advantage of their time away and visited more than one park each day. They were able to zip line, drive ATVs, hike, kayak, swim with dolphins, snorkel and so much more. One especially unique experience the Siglers enjoyed was repelling into the many cenotes at the Xenotes park. Centoes are underground rivers that have been exposed in recent years due to collapsing limestone as a result of hurricane damage.
Another highlight of the trip was the Sea Trek experience at Xelha. Sea Trek allows you to walk under the ocean, interact with ocean life, and not worry about snorkel or scuba gear. “The boys’ faces were constantly wow’d and excited, and I have some amazing pictures with all four of us!” The photo package at Hotel Xcaret is a unique feature that allows everyone to focus on making memories instead of capturing them. There are photographers and photo stations in every park and scattered throughout the property to make sure you go home with quality photos without lugging a camera around.
While the Siglers stayed busy, and even walked 13 miles one day, they made time to relax by the pool, try out the waterslides, enjoy some downtime in the many hammocks on property, and warm up by the fire pits. “The resort never felt crowded and there are so many walking trails and paths that you are never waiting in line for anything,” Kristen said. The food was also a hit at Xcaret, from fresh squeezed juice and warm Mexican pastries in the morning, to authentic shrimp tacos and Waygu beef for dinner.
Kristen’s biggest tip for anyone considering a trip to Xcaret - high quality water shoes. They ordered sneaker quality waterproof shoes before they left and were extremely thankful to have done so.
“If you love nature, you have to go. Everywhere you turn there was something beautiful - and we all had a blast. I don’t know what we can do next to top this. Maybe an African safari?” - Kristen Sigler
